- POSSIBLE CAUSE: Dirty or clogged air filters.RECOMMENDED ACTION: Consult your owner’s guide to find out exactly where the air filters are located in your system. Once you’ve done this you should examine the air filter in each component and replace as needed.
- POSSIBLE CAUSE: The evaporator coil could be clogged or dirty causing it to freeze and reduce the unit’s cooling capacity.RECOMMENDED ACTION: Try turning the thermostat off for 1-3 hours to see if it will defrost. Also, check for signs of water leakage below the indoor unit. If there is a leak and you are unable to defrost the coil, contact your local Trane Comfort Specialist™.
- POSSIBLE CAUSE: Sometimes excessive dust can build up and cause the motor to burn out. This is usually because an old filter has not been replaced.RECOMMENDED ACTION: If you experience a blower motor failure, you will need professional assistance in replacing it. - POSSIBLE CAUSE: The circuit breaker might have been tripped.RECOMMENDED ACTION: Try resetting your home’s circuit breaker.
